I hate writing ‘rules’. But with the wide range of perceptions of dog owners, and for the sake of clarity and safety, they’re necessary, when teaching dog owners to train their dog(s). The terms, 1 thru 6, are simple, and matters of common responsibility.
Terms and Liability Of Training By Mark Rogers [Mark’s Dog Leash Living]
1) Owner(s) of dogs presented to Mark Rogers for training, must be adult, 18 years or older.
2) No dog with a known human bite, or other human physical-contact attack history, will be presented for training without a quality, secure muzzle, provided and secured by the owner.
For leash reactivity (lunging, growling, barking) at other dogs, muzzle requirement will be on a case by case basis. (See equipment here)
3) For any training in public places, no female dogs, in season, will be accepted for training by Mark Rogers. Female dogs in season may be accepted for training in a fenced yard, at the dog owner’s residence.
4) All dogs brought to Mark Rogers for training must have required current rabies vaccination.
5) All puppies (6 weeks – 6 months old) brought to Mark Rogers for training must be current in vaccinations against Distemper and Parvo.
WHILE TRAINING:
6) Training sessions are limited to one dog, with up to two owners/handlers. Children 12 years or older and accompanied by an adult owner/handler may be included in training.
7) For verification and security, video will be taken during training sessions. A small amount of video/photos may be used for website, or social media information and advertising.
8) The dog owner accepts responsibility for any and all behavior from their dog, that results in damage to property or human injury.
